Pip & Pear Chilled Baby Food

Waterford based Pip & Pear Chilled Baby Food is sprouting up all over Ireland in a supermarket near you

Pip & Pear Chilled Baby Food is a revolutionary new baby food range which was conceived in the kitchen of Waterford mum and restauranteur Irene Queally. Using Irene’s home cooked recipes and containing up to 2 of your baby’s 5 a day fruit and veg portions, Pip & Pear looks and tastes like real food because that’s just what it is.

Pip and Pear is stocked in over 110 SuperValu stores nationwide and is also available in Aldi THIS WEEK (17th Sept) as part of their baby and toddler event! Pip and Pear first launched with Aldi in May in conjunction with their baby and toddler promotion. The demand for the new baby food range was so great that Aldi wanted Pip and Pear back on their shelves again. Aldi’s enthusiasm for Irish producers, sourcing over 50% of their products from Irish suppliers and their commitment to outstanding quality, made it a perfect fit for the launch of Pip & Pear Chilled Baby Food.

Parents can now buy nutritious baby food that looks and tastes great, without the worry of having to compromise on flavour and nutritional value. Pip & Pear is cooked exactly the same way as you would at home, we just use a bigger pot, and it doesn’t need the intensive cooking methods of long shelf life pouches and jars.

Like every busy parent, Irene occasionally needed a convenient baby food but couldn’t find anything in stores that came close to home cooking, and so Pip & Pear was born. She took the brave step of putting it on the menu at “No.9 Barronstrand St.” and the response was amazing; within weeks people were driving from all over the south east to stock up.

Last year, Pip & Pear swept the boards winning Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards and has been shortlisted again for the awards ceremony early next month.

Pip and Pear Chilled Baby Food offers parents “the next best thing to homemade with all of the goodness and none of the guilt”. Irene has sourced top quality ingredients including Organic Fruit and Vegetables, Organic Gluten Free Baby Pasta, Bord Bia Approved Irish Beef, Lamb and Chicken and Bord Iascaigh Mhara approved Fish.

Pip & Pear Chilled Baby Food offers the best nutritional options in a convenient little pot and makes it easier for babies to transition to a broad range of solid foods. Look out for us in the dairy fridge next to the yoghurt.

National Adult Literacy Agency

Invitation
Come join us at our stand at the National Ploughing Championships and meet adults who recently returned to education.
Adults who returned to education encourage others to ‘give it a go’ at the National Ploughing Championships

The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) would like to invite you to join us at our stand at the National Ploughing Championships and meet students who recently returned to education. They include Olive Phelan, Tony Moloney, Michael Power, Kevin O’Duffy, Noel Phelan and Liz Corkish.

Before the next election, they would especially like to tell you about the social and economic benefits of helping people with low or no qualifications access education.
Why is this important?

In the last OECD survey, it was estimated that one in six Irish adults has problems with even the simplest literacy task such as reading instructions on a bottle of aspirin. One in four people find it difficult to do simple maths.

As low skilled jobs become less available, people without a qualification are at the greatest risk of unemployment and already form the greatest group who are unemployed. Individuals who do not have a basic education also have poorer health and in general lower life expectancy and life chances.

The aim of our awareness work is to help people with poor literacy and numeracy skills access adult education, to create a more inclusive society.

You can find us in:
The Duhallow Tent (Education & Business)
Block 1
Row 30
Stand 583
Unit 21 and 22

National Adult Literacy Awareness Week will also be promoted nationwide from Monday 21 to Friday 25 of September. The aim of the week is to raise awareness about the literacy issue in Ireland and to promote the free courses available to people who want to improve their reading, writing and maths skills.
