Firsts for New Bobcat/Doosan Products at Ploughing Show

Limerick-based Bobcat and Doosan dealer, Adare Machinery, will be showing new Bobcat and Doosan products for the first time in Ireland at the National Ploughing Championships, taking place in Screggan, Tullamore in Co Offaly from 18-20 September 2018.

Ireland Launch for New R-Series Mini-Excavators

The Ploughing Show will provide the platform for the latest developments from Bobcat, including the launch in Ireland of the new Bobcat R-Series mini-excavators from 2-4 tonne. The new range of five excavator models – the E26, E27z, E27, E34 and E35z – offers a best-in-class mix of high digging forces, superb stability and smooth controllability of working functions complemented by low weights for easy transportation.

Adare is showing the new E27z 2.7 tonne model at the Ploughing Show, offering the largest cab for this size of machine on the market. As a true Zero House Swing machine (even with the optional heavy counterweight), the E27z offers the highest flexibility of movements when working close to walls.

Also being shown for the first time in Ireland is the Bobcat T40.180SLP 18 m high lift telehandler, The T40.180SLP is the top-of-the-range model in the fifteen different rigid frame telehandlers from Bobcat, covering maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.3 tonne and maximum lifting heights from 6 to 18 m. All Bobcat rigid frame telehandlers are backed by a unique three year warranty as standard. High performance is ensured by the Bobcat D34 Stage IV/Tier 4 Final compliant diesel engine developed in-house.

The Adare stand will also feature the Bobcat E10 and E19 mini-excavators and the S70, S450 and S590 skid-steer loaders. This year is the 60th Anniversary of the Bobcat skid-steer loader. Sixty years ago, Melroe Manufacturing Company, the forerunner to Bobcat Company, introduced a compact front-end loader that evolved quickly into the M-400, the world’s first true skid-steer loader. The M-400 later adopted what became the world famous ‘Bobcat’ brand and its success created the global compact equipment industry we know today.

First Time for Doosan DL220-5 Wheel Loader in Ireland

Adare is showing the Doosan DL220-5 Stage IV compliant wheel loader for the first time in Ireland. With a bucket capacity of 2.2 m3, the DL220-5 is intended to meet a wide range of material-handling and loading applications in housebuilding, commercial developments, civil engineering, road construction and maintenance, land improvement/water control, crop and livestock production, snow removal, scrap handling and many other areas.

The DL220-5 wheel loader is powered by the well-proven 6-cylinder, turbocharged Doosan DL06P water-cooled diesel engine which offers convenience and lower costs by meeting Stage IV emission regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF), through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR) after-treatment technologies. The DL06P engine provides a power output of 119 kW (160 HP) at 2100 RPM and a maximum torque of 735 Nm at 1400 RPM.

The DL220-5 wheel loader has an operating weight of 12365 kg, a static full turn tipping load (40°) of 8570 kg and offers a breakout force of 102 kN.

The DL220-5 is manufactured with a standard Z-bar lift-arm linkage and is ideal for scooping, loading, carrying and general construction tasks.  For operators requiring additional dumping capabilities, the DL220-5 is also available with a high-lift Z-bar configuration, extending the dump height 457 mm above that of the standard DL220-5.  This configuration is ideal for loading material into high-sided trucks or high hoppers, building stockpiles or handling solid waste.

Adare will also be showing the popular Doosan DX140LCR-5 reduced tail swing crawler excavator and DL450-5 wheel loader on the Ploughing Show stand.

Shaking up the dairy farm industry

Terra NutriTECH is an award-winning Irish company on the cusp of launching on a global scale. Founders Tom and Padraig Hennessy are game-changers and innovators; determined to revolutionise the dairy farm industry. In designing the Terra NutriTECH Controller, an intelligent mineral dosing system, they help farms to maximise profits by developing smart technology. Innovation is at the heart of what they do. Their hard work and commitment have been rewarded this year, becoming Overall Winner at the ‘National Enterprise Awards’ 2018 and Overall Winner of ‘Google adopt a start up’ 2018. As approved exhibitors, they will compete in Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Arena Awards at the National Ploughing Championships taking place on September 18th, 19th and 20th in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

Using your farm’s water system is the best way to dose your dairy herd with magnesium and minerals. Terra NutriTECH provide the only fully-automated method on the market that dispenses liquid minerals into water piping systems that can guarantee 100% accuracy. The Controller provides an easy way to ensure that dairy herds receive the optimal amount of minerals. It connects to existing pipes and delivers minerals based on the animal’s water usage, whatever the weather brings. By increasing herd health and reducing the need for supplementary feed, farmers save time and money.

Newly rebranded as Terra NutriTECH (formerly Terra Liquid Minerals), they have been operating since 2012 with hundreds of satisfied clients who have seen increased profits and reduced labor. They take care of everything and provide a fully-managed service; leasing out and installing controllers, providing maintenance and upgrades. Controllers allow for remote monitoring and real-time data is visible via smartphone and web app. They also offer custom-made mineral mixes and are automatically alerted to replenish your minerals so you never run out.

New DeLaval rotary for Irish and UK farmers

Founded in Sweden over 135 years ago, DeLaval has grown to become a market leader in milking equipment and technology.  Today, the company launched its latest innovation to Irish and UK farmers – the new DeLaval Rotary E100 milking parlour.

The E100 is focused around the four customer challenges of: animal welfare; milk quality; farm profitability; and work efficiency. When it comes to animal welfare, the E100 is designed to ensure that everything “works to move cows calmly and efficiently trough a gentle and safe process”.

In addition, the E100 is an “efficient machine” which drives the throughput you need. It is this “unrivalled efficiency” that makes it possible to spend less time, with fewer people, milking more cows.

With the ability for one operator to control the milking process and a focus on cow flow that makes it possible to increase throughput, the E100 is claimed to make it possible for you to do more with less.

Claimed key features:

  • Reduced milker workload
  • Feaster cow exiting
  • Rotation speed can be controlled by production group settings
  • Highest milk capacity on the market
  • Predefined service costs
  • High throughput with only one milker
  • Integrated system and tank cleaning
  • Lower water consumption
  • Up to 1.5 cow entry for faster loading.

Other key features include the DeLaval FastLane bridge and the DeLaval ComfortBail. With the new DeLaval Fastlane bridge, cows move quickly, calmly and efficiently through every DeLaval Rotary E100 system.

In addition, the DeLaval ComfortBail is unique to the E100. This bail hides the wires, pipes and technology and integrates them into the bail. This ensures clearer lines of visibility for the worker and cow; easier, safer access for the milker; and a more consistent approach to the task of getting cows on, milked and off the rotary platform calmly and quickly.

Commenting on the launch, Gary Edwards – CMS Solutions manager – said: “The DeLaval E100 Rotary has been designed around the customer’s and the animal’s needs. It has been designed as a complete milking system, focusing on cow flow, cow comfort, efficiency and comfort for the milker.
“Combined with DelPro herd management software, it really offers the farmer complete control of his herd, making it easier for him to make management decisions.”

“When working in conjunction with the unique DeLaval teat spray robot(TSR), it is incredibly labour efficient when labour is becoming increasingly challenging for dairy farmers,” he added.

The DeLaval Rotary E100 will be displayed in the UK and Ireland at the UK Dairy Day and the National Ploughing Championships.
