Lely the world leader in robotic milking systems and the NPA will once again join forces for a live robotic milking demonstration at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Stradbally Co. Laois.

A herd of 40 cows will arrive on site the weekend before the event to settle in and during the Ploughing week they will be milked at their leisure as they do on their home farm.

Every event from birth until the day the cow leaves the farm is stored on the T4C (time for cows) management program which is then presented clearly to the farmer on a dashboard. It enables him to supply an individual cow with all her needs for optimal health, milk production and well-being.”

Speaking in advance of the NPA press launch tomorrow, Ms Anna May McHugh said “the cows and the robotic milking were a huge attraction for all visitors to the event last year. I’m really delighted that the visiting public will once again have an opportunity to see the whole process in action this year. With many schools and colleges attending, it perfectly highlights the importance of merging science, technology and farming techniques to find positive solutions and innovative processes that can have a great impact on working rural life”.

It means that, in the face of rising fuel prices, farmers and businesses who store and dispenses fuel on their premises, can rest assured that they have full visibility of their fuel tank levels and can therefore take better control of their stocks and deliveries.

In common with the previous FuelMaster range, the new tanks are manufactured to a very high-spec and meet all UK regulatory standards for on-site fuel storage. Made from tough rotationally-moulded plastic, the tanks are bunded and come with a Spillstop device to prevent overfilling and spills.

Other features include 10 micron particle and water filter standard on all models, as well as a pump which dispenses at 56 litres per minute as standard. Reversible doors are available on selected models and there is a light inside the hood to help farmers fill up their vehicles in the dark.

The FuelMaster+ is suitable for Agricultural Fuel oil (Class A2) and Gas/Oil/Diesel (Class D) and is available in eight models to meet most application requirements.
