Take the train and bus to the 2015 National Ploughing Championships

Irish Rail and Bus Eireann are offering a combined train/bus ticket for this year’s ploughing and will provide a service from Portlaoise, Athy and Portarlington Stations.

Just 15 minutes from Portlaoise to the site – why take the car? See and for more information.

Bus Eireann will also provide a shuttle service to site – pick-up at the train station.

Following the success of last year, Iarnrod Eireann will again be providing trains and Bus Eireann a bus transfer service to the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, near Portlaoise in September 2015.

Travel on scheduled morning train services to Portlaoise, Portarlington or Athy (one shuttle service from Athy each day) where a bus awaits to transport you to the ploughing site. Frequent return services back to stations from 15.00 hours onwards.
