Paua2thepeople was set up in July 2010 by Shane and Liz Pennell. Shane is a native of New Zealand where the Paua shells are exclusively sourced. Our shells come from the gale swept coastal waters off New Zealand’s Fiordland area.

They are famed for their iridescent beauty, with swirls of blues and greens, pinks and purple hues.

Paua2thepeople design and make a range of hand made products with these very beautiful shells, including jewellery, picture frames, book marks, and coasters.

The shells are also famed for their health giving benefits. When pendants are worn close to the throat they are said to help with throat ailments and public speaking. The shells are intrinsically connected with the sea and are said to balance emotions. Other properties include encouraging creativity, they are intimately connected with motherhood, and are connected with the heart chakra.
